As promised, a picture of my Zoya Haul!

{ please do click for the awesomeness! }

I’m ridiculously excited to be trying out all 21!!! polishes. I guess it didn’t hit me how many polishes I got until I laid them all out like that. It’s the colors of the rainbow! I also wish I had waited just a BIT longer to send them in; then I could have gotten Midori too! I should be more than satisfied though. Which I am!

from left to right, top to bottom
gaia / harley / kat / morgan / lindsay / gabrielle / sienna
creamy / manhattan mixer / tangy / irene / suvi / jo / kotori
malia / zara / yasmeen / mikka / ki / richelle / raven

I already have requests for swatches of Ki, Malia, Zara, Creamy, and Tangy. If there’s anything else you’d like, just comment and I’ll get to it as soon as possible. Just keep in mind that I AM a student, and as much as I’d like to spend my time playing with nail polishes, there’s still studying and homework to be done.

For all those who haven’t done the polish exchange program, here’s the link: Click me!

The premise is that you send in 6+ bottles of nail polish, used, unused, dried up, whatever, and Zoya will send you brand new spanking bottles of nail polish for $3.00 a pop. That, my friends, is an awesome deal.

Well, this will be my last post for today. Until next time!

Zoya – Lindsay Friday, Apr 17 2009

My Zoya haul came in the other day [you’ll get to see that in a bit!], so I decided to test out one of the colors! I normally don’t wear pink nail polish – it’s usually obnoxiously bright or dark vampys – but for some reason, Lindsay truely caught my eye. Just look at the pictures! They’re all taken in sunlight.

Lindsay is a fushia pink infused with wonderful silver shimmer. I tried my very best to capture it for you, but I don’t think I succeeded too well. ): The only downside I would say this has is that it is super sheer. My pictures are 4 coats, and there’s still quite a lot of VNL. The numerous coats + Seche Vite = shrinkage. That made me a bit sad, but the color is still super SUPER beautiful. This is the first Zoya I’ve tried out, and I’m very impressed with the application! Zoya, you’re wonderful!

China Glaze – Tree Hugger Friday, Apr 17 2009

So now that Lent is over, I’m able to paint my nails again! You have no idea how long I had been waiting for this! Sounds corny, but those of you with addictions know all too well what I mean!

To start off the nail polish spree, I used one of the newest polishes to my collection, Tree Hugger. So okay, it’s not a new release, but I wasn’t into nail polish when it first came out. But during spring break, my friend & I dropped by a nail supply store, and I picked up some China Glazes and a bottle of Seche Vite. This was one of the China Glazes.

Tree Hugger is a very spring-oriented green. It’s not at all creme; rather, it’s filled with the subtlest shimmer that makes it more interesting. Definitely one of my favorites at the moment! And not just because I’m biased to green! Application was a breeze, and it was opaque in two coats.

To make it a bit more interesting, I opted to try out my Ulta – Starstruck. I had picked this up a while back, but never had the chance to use it. As you can see, it’s a very in your face glitter. But it definitely blinged up the manicure! Removing it was SUCH a pain though. Probably won’t use it very often because of it. The teal diagonal stripe was done with nail art polish that I had bought off ebay. Worth it? Of course … even though it reeks.

Misa – No Shrinking Violetta Friday, Apr 10 2009

This is Misa’s No Shrinking Violetta taken in pretty direct sunlight. To say the least, it’s one of my FAVORITE colors, hands down. Strange, because I tend to gravitate towards the bright, neon, and obnoxious. But nope, somehow, this color has stolen my heart!

It’s a very pink/purple color with gorgeous gold shimmer. Look at it! The shimmer definitely gives No Shrinking Violetta a different edge compared with other pinks. The application was a breeze, as expected by something from Misa. I actually got this a few months ago during Misa’s HUGE promotion, where I ended up getting 12 bottles for $24.00. No joke. Possibly one of the best deals I have gotten for SUPER high quality nail polish.

I had a friend describe this color as a total “princess” color. What do you think? Do you see it like that too? And before I forget, that’s a nail lace sticker on my pointer finger. I found them on ebay, if anyone is interested.

A New Beginning. Friday, Apr 10 2009

I have an unholy obsession with nail polish.

There. I’ve said it. Inhaling those noxious fumes, and spending hours at a time drooling over new colors, oh, the joys of nail polish addiction. But that’s besides the point.

This will be a blog where I will post pictures of nail polish, nail art [including tutorials], and about everything under the sun that relates to beauty.

Now, only to see if I can keep this up! Wish me luck!
